Meal Prep Madness/Sunday Funday

image

I spent $105 shopping, $25+ of savings from not buying lunches.

This week I officially start 40 hours at my job {YAY} and one thing I know for sure… Just because like will be at work from 8:30am-6:15pm 5 days a week, doesn’t mean I’m going to be sacrificing my meal plan,  and goals for something quick, easy, and crappy for me.  Hence, today I spent prepping lunches, and freezer to crockpot bags.

It took a little bit of pinterest recipe organization and searching,  but I broke it down by having 2 crockpots going simultaneously for dinner tonight, and lunches for the work week.

Clean Eating Orange Chicken for lunches

Once that was prepped I started labeling my bags. Each had the instructions for what to do on the day of cooking.

8 bags total, 4 recipes with each of them doubled.

Then I went about the task of assembling each recipe. This was the most complicated and lengthy part of the whole experience. Thank goodness for my food processor, because I did a total of 10 pounds of sliced carrots alone.

So thankful once the last bag was completed.

All in all it took longer than I thought originally, but for that I have a solution. I will be making two less time consuming recipes next week, and two similar to the ones I did today. When I think about the amount of money I’ll be saving, this is so worth it. Not to mention the benefit to my family’s health.

》2 Bags Chicken Fajitas
》2 Bags Mexican Veggie Soup
》Honey Garlic Chicken
》Orange Chicken

2 weeks of Insanity

I’ve been trying out this whole Insanity Max:30 workout for two weeks. I officially start the meal plan on the fifth of January. I’ve long since given up on measuring my progress by the number on the scale. Because really it comes down to the way your clothes fit, and after the first week my tightest jeans are loose. After the second week I can tell I’ve lost in my mid section.

Right now I’m just getting a feel for the workouts. I’ve only missed two workouts so far. And that was only because I slipped on the stairs yesterday landed hard on the step with my booty and am still really sore. I’m taking tonight to rest and then getting back to it tomorrow. We have to let ourselves heal, or risk hurting ourselves more.

Setbacks happen; I’ve noticed they often occur near the beginning of something like this. We all have the choice to get back on that horse after we fall off. It won’t be easy, but I’ll get back in gear this weekend.

Riding the Crazy Train-Insanity Max:30

I have officially finished a full week of Insanity Max:30 and have a few things to say about it. First off wow, I was not expecting to feel that good after a workout. Second, dang never have I had a more effective workout where I could feel it all over my body.

Basically, how you feel during the entire first 25 minutes, and then the last five push for that ultimate max out.

Nutrition:

The nutrition plan is super simple, I officially start the strict plan on January 5th. This is the start date of my team’s test group. It follows the container system, just like the 21 Day Fix. It has a great nutrition guide that keeps you completely covered.

Workouts:

From the first inhale, and jump-start into each power packed workout to the sweet moment of accomplishment after 30 minutes of pushing yourself to the maximum; you are being motivated, pushed further than you have ever gone before, actually wanting to compete with your previous max out time. Never have I ever challenged myself more, but I crave it as well now because of that intense satisfaction of accomplishment. What is great is that there is a modifier to follow for those times you would otherwise give up.

My best max out time, at least so far :)

Progress:

I’ve lost an inch on each leg, and the then an inch off of my waist. 3 inches in a week without strictly follow the eating plan, I will take it.
